During the lockdown, due to COVID-19 outbreak, when all art galleries were closed, the association “Het Wilde Westen” from Cereolfabriek in Utrecht invited several artists to take part in a project that would nevertheless make art accessible to the public. The idea was that on the given weekend the participating artists expose their works in their windows or perform in front of their houses. Enjoying beautiful summer weather, passers-by would stroll by paintings hung in the windows, listen to the music, to poets reading their verses, or enjoy a dance performed on the street pavement or in a nearby park.
I liked the idea of making our gloomy, pandemic reality a bit brighter through the light of art, and joined the initiative by exhibiting series of eight paintings from the cycle “Mediterranean Sea”, accompanied by a performance “The Sea” that I have enacted on the street with my friends – musicians and dancers.
